A LITTLE HISTORY: WHAT IS AN IPA BEER?
“IPA” stands for “India Pale Ale”. These beers refer to the Pale Ales sent to India, during the possession of the British Empire. The first beers were produced from the 18th century. As the boat trip to these colonies lasted several months, the alcohol content and hop volume were greater, in order to guarantee the preservation of taste qualities. Today, IPA beers are characterized by strong hop flavors and a moderate alcohol content. Bitterness levels can vary from brand to brand, depending on the proportions of malt and hops.
